Clexi draws inspiration from the letter "x" as a symbol of privacy and incorporates rivets reminiscent of Roman imperial helmets for added security. The choice of rose gold and gray colors gives the flash drive a classic yet modern look that appeals to a wide range of users. The LED light running around the USB adds a touch of elegance and enhances the overall user experience by changing colors.

What sets Clexi apart is its seamless integration with smartphones. Unlike traditional encrypted flash drives that require passwords and software installations, Clexi's security is managed directly on the mobile device. Users simply need to tap and go. The Clexi app is compatible with both Android and iOS, making it accessible to a broad audience.

Measuring at just 16x7x50 mm, Clexi is compact and slim, yet it offers fast and reliable performance. The flash drive is made from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic, a durable material that ensures longevity. The Bluetooth technology used in Clexi enables secure and encrypted data transfer.

Operating Clexi is a breeze. Users need to download the Clexi app, plug the flash drive into the USB port, and wait for the device to blink blue, indicating it is ready to pair with a smartphone. A Bluetooth pairing request dialog box will appear on the smartphone screen, and users simply need to select the pair button. Clexi then utilizes biometric authentication, such as face ID, to ensure secure access. Once authenticated, the light on the Clexi turns solid, indicating that it is ready to use.

Clexi is not only a highly secure storage solution but also allows for easy data sharing. Through the app, the owner can authorize other users to access and share data, providing a convenient and efficient way to collaborate.

The Clexi project started in August 2019 and is set to be completed in September 2020. Throughout the design process, Heydarian and Piri employed design thinking methodology, conducting market research, user analysis, brainstorming sessions, and deep dives into the problem at hand. This approach ensured that Clexi addressed the challenges of data security and privacy while also delivering an aesthetically pleasing and functional design.

The innovative design and exceptional functionality of Clexi have not gone unnoticed. The design was awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Computers and Peripheral Devices category in 2020.
